Individual and Group Counseling

I work with clients seeking coping and support in the following areas:

  • Perinatal Mood Disorders

  • Grief and Loss

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Self care and life balance

Postpartum Depression and Anxiety Support

Postpartum depression and anxiety can affect 1 in 7 mothers and did you know it can also affect dads and partners? At a time when mothers are told “this will be the greatest time of your life” the struggles of parenthood are real and when those expectations of greatness are not met, it can cause shame and feelings of isolation, making it difficult to cope.

It is important for me to create a safe space for parents to talk about these struggles and learn coping skills to manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. These struggles can also begin during pregnancy.

I have a passion for helping parents navigate the difficulties that come along with the postpartum period. It not only affects the individual but the relationship as well. I am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health Professional (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International and will begin offering support groups for moms and partners in the near future. Check back for updates!

In addition, I have completed training in providing TeleMental Health Services which may be more convenient for new parents during a time when leaving the house may be hard. Please contact me for more information!

Grief and Loss Counseling

Prior to starting my private practice in 2006, I worked for agencies and nonprofit organizations offering grief support to families who had experienced the death of a loved one.

Grief is a universal concept that not only applies to the death of someone we love, but is an experience that can happen with any life transition.
